Nashville Fashion Week: Day 5

Last night was the conclusion of Nashville Fashion Week, and let me tell you, I am EXHAUSTED! Seriously, I don’t know how Connie, Mike, Marcia, and Robert were able to function by Saturday night. But this dream team was able to pull off another amazing night to an already amazing week.

The final show was again held at the Pinnacle with a cocktail reception and after party on the 22nd floor. I did manage to get a halfway decent shot of the incredible view and snapped a photo of the seating layout as guests started to fill in the gaps. I grabbed a seat on the first row where models exited from backstage onto the long runway. By the time the fashion show started every seat was filled and standing guests lined the walls.

First designer: Valentine Valentine. This Nashville based designer, according to the NFW booklet, was raised on thrifting and quilting. This background absolutely shined through Amanda’s collection of patchwork dresses and wide legged trousers. Also featured were an array of tops, skirts, vests, and capes. A large color pallet was utilized, showcasing colors like blue, cream, green, white and red. I couldn’t tell if it was a top or dress, but I went totally nuts for a vintage looking Aztec piece worn by the third model. I want to wear this shirt forever.

Second designer: Leona Collection presented by Hemline Nashville. I think this may have been the longest runway show of the week with a multitude of garments shown including tops, pants, skirts, dresses, and suits. Dusty roses, blues, tans, blacks, creams, and camels highlighted this collection. The garments were women friendly and wearable, just not really my style. I did, however, love love love the golden skirt with the black polka dot overlay. Also, this model lost one of her bright yellow shoes on the runway and did not miss a beat. Work it!

Third designer: Robert Graham presented by Levy’s. No. Just no. I reallllly hate to be mean or critical, but not a fan. I’m just going to leave it at that.

Fourth designer: Steven OO presented by Project Artisan. Yes, yes, yes! I loved this collection. It’s hard to tell from the photos, but there was so much detailing in these pieces. These were like a work of art that you want to study and analyze. This designer, according to the NFW booklet, “specializes in intricate and structural knits and brings an unconventional approach to traditional knitting.” The knit pieces were cool, unexpected, fashion forward, and surprising. I really don’t know how this man does it, but this knitwear was phenomenal. I wish my camera had picked up these details so you could see how intricate and detailed these pieces were. Loved this collection! Oh, and how ridiculously adorable is that picture of him? I die.

Fifth designer: Aman Stovall. These sophisticated dresses featured modern tailoring and subtle embellishments. I could see these being appropriate for a 30+ target demographic of women. But, I did die for a long sleeved black dress that looked simple from the front and then as soon as the model turned… gawww-gous! Ridiculously sexy.

The night wrapped up with a ridiculously fun after party filled with cupcakes,  bourbon slushies, and recapping the week with friends.
